I’ve been a collector since I was a kid. A lot of the time, being in Australia, I’d be collecting Australian football (AFL) cards, with the occasional World Cup sticker album every four years.
Once I got into my teens and 20s, cards took a back seat to life. However, now and then, I’d buy a cheap box of junk wax to open whenever I was bored. I also bought more soccer cards as eBay and online stores became more popular.
Over time, I’ve come back into collecting more and more – these days, I mainly collect Soccer cards, but I still like a few vintage AFL and NBA pieces.
I’ve also started collecting tickets and other memorabilia, too – it’s something that I’ve taken a lot of joy out of.
Players and teams I’m collecting
- Ronaldo (R9 – the Brazilian one)
- Christian Vieri
- Any classic vintage soccer tickets
- Carlton Football Club (AFL) cards
- Match programmes for iconic matches and player debuts
