Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski is one of football’s biggest personalities, both on and off the field.
Not only is he exceptional when it comes to the numbers he puts out (receiving touchdowns, thrown by Tom Brady, in particular), but he’s also done a lot with his charity work.
Some of you might even know him from his WWE cameos…
For all of these reasons, Gronkowski is and will remain a popular figure for many years to come. Whether you’re looking for an investment into a Rob Gronkowski rookie card or you’re just looking to add to your collection, we’ve got you covered here.
Top Rob Gronkowski Rookie Cards
Consider these cards if you’re looking for a good Rob Gronkowski rookie card option.
2010 Topps Rob Gronkowski RC #148
Many of Gronk’s cards will always be popular, but if you’re after a safe bet, then you can’t go wrong with Topps.
The first good reason why this card might be your option is that it’s not that expensive. The supply of these cards is more than sufficient relative to the demand, so you should be able to find yourself a good card.
Secondly, the image on the card is a bit iconic.
It’s a unique action shot of Rob with the ball in his hands, with the stands in the background.
2010 Topps Chrome Rob Gronkowski RC #C112
At first sight, there might not be much of a difference between this Topps Chrome card and the base Topps card.
After all, the image on both of these cards is the same.
But as is usually the case, the Topps Chrome card is of a much higher quality. The card stock itself is better and thus longer-lasting.
Historically, Topps Chrome cards have been miles ahead of Topps, especially in the early days when Chrome cards started being produced. But in recent decades, the difference between the two has gotten smaller.
Nonetheless, the Topps Chrome card is a slightly superior (and also more expensive) option when compared to Topps.
We should also mention the autographed Topps Chrome card here.
This autographed version was officially released along with the base Topps Chrome cards, but it’s much rarer than the base card.
And even though it has a sticker autograph on it, it’s still an excellent option, but be prepared to spend a bit more to be able to get your hands on this beauty.
2010 SAGE HIT Rob Gronkowski RC Auto #A84
Next up we have SAGE, a common brand when it comes to football cards. This edition is a bit special because it includes the on-card autograph and a premium design.
The good thing about this card is that you get all that for a relatively sensible price.
It has some nice premium features while also not being that expensive, which is great news if you’re not willing to spend a fortune on a card like this.
There are several color variants that you can choose from – this is the silver one, but you also have other options.
Just know some cards like this might not be graded, so there’s a certain level of risk that comes with that. For that reason, it might be better to go for graded cards and spare yourself the aggravation of not buying genuine cards.
2010 Score Rob Gronkowski RC #383
Keeping on the subject of budget rookie cards, you’ve also got the Score option to consider.
Now, this card might not be everyone’s cup of tea in terms of the graphics employed on the card. The style that Score went with was slightly more modern.
But Score is historically quite a significant card brand, so if you’re looking for a safe and inexpensive alternative to the Topps cards, then Score is a good shout.
2010 Topps Platinum Rob Gronkowski RC #122
Here’s another Topps card that you might want to consider: Topps Platinum.
This card goes for a different feel compared to the other Topps card; instead of having the stands in the background, this one opts for a shiny background.
The base card of this type belongs to the budget category. It’s another relatively safe alternative that you might want to consider.
And another great thing about this card is the many different refractors you can choose from. Some will be more expensive than others, so you’ll have great variety here.
2010 Press Pass Rob Gronkowski RC Auto #PPSRG
Are you looking for a card with an autograph? Then you might want to take a look at the Press Pass Rob Gronkowski rookie cards.
There’s a great deal of variety when it comes to this card. You can choose between the base card, but you also have bronze, silver, and gold variations – each is increasingly rarer and also more expensive.
The gold card is the rarest here, with only 99 copies to its name. That also means that it’s going to be more expensive than others and the prices will likely go into thousands with this one.
Press Pass is one of the medium-level cards when it comes to Rob Gronkowski cards and they should be considered if you’re looking for something a bit more valuable and rarer.
2010 Exquisite Collection Football Rob Gronkowski Gold Ink RC
Exquisite collection is known for its gold ink and the jersey patch that you’ll find on the card, as well as the autograph that comes with it.
All that makes it an excellent package. In addition, there are only 120 cards from the Exquisite Collection, so you might find it slightly challenging to find one.
One thing that you might notice is that the Gronk is depicted on this card in his college apparel and not the Arizona jersey, which might be a turn-off for some people.
All in all, this is a great premium card that should not be too expensive to get.
2010 UD Exquisite Collection Ensemble Signatures Rob Gronkowski/Aaron Hernandez RC
There’s another card from Exquisite Collection that deserves a mention here, and it’s the Ensemble Signatures version.
For this card, it’s typical to see the card being shared by two different players. In this case, we have Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski, both top prospects from the 2010 draft and both great players.
Now, if you prefer to have the Gronk only on the card, then this might not be the most appealing option for you.
But on the upside, you’ll also get an autograph on the card, a very premium golden design, as well as a limited quantity of 25 cards.
Now, this will naturally bring the prices for this card up.
2010 Topps Five Star Rob Gronkowski RC Auto #161
Here we have another card that could be considered a premium option.
You can see straight away that this one is something special, from the beautifully decorated golden borders to the seamless autograph on the bottom of the card.
There are also only 100 cards from Five Star, so it is quite understandable that the prices can be a bit high for this beauty.
However, if you’re fully committed to buying a Gronkowski rookie card and you want to go all-in, then this is probably one of the best options you could use. It does come at a premium price, though.
2010 Topps Finest Dual Relics Rob Gronkowski Auto Patch RC #RG
The 2010 Finest Dual Relics is a bit special. It is limited to only 25 copies, and you also get a jersey patch as well as an autograph on the card (albeit the autograph is on a sticker).
If you’re looking for a premium card option for Rob Gronkowski, then this is a great option to consider.
Note that it might cost more than other premium cards because of the limited quantity; you’re almost certainly going to go into thousands with this one.
But the reliability of the brand and its premium nature will guarantee you that you’re getting something great for the future, and if you’re ready to go all out on Rob Gronkowski, you probably won’t regret your decision if you go for this one.
2010 Playoff Contenders Rob Gronkowski Auto RC #229
Now we’re getting into the big stuff!
Playoff Contenders is one of the best brands to own if you’re something of a premium card collector. It’s unique, beautiful, and it has an autograph as well.
There are two versions of this card: white jersey and blue jersey – both are equal in terms of values, so choose the one you like better.
2010 National Treasures Rob Gronkowski Auto Patch RC #329
Last but certainly not least, we have the 2010 National Treasures Gronkowski rookie card.
One of the best things about this card is the large jersey patch as well as the large autograph on the card. This is why this card is considered to be the king of all Gronkowski rookie cards.
It’s also the most valuable Gronkowski rookie card.
